 Easy Chocolate Lava Cakes

http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/i-lava-you#.wnno8gZK3

Recipe by Christine Byrne

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS
4 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing custard cups
2 tablespoons sugar, plus more for the custard cups
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt

PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 425°F, and grease two 6 to 8-ounce custard cups or ramekins generously with butter. Put a small spoonful of sugar in each cup, then turn the cup sideways and rotate it so that the sugar is coating the butter all around. Dump out any excess sugar. Place the greased cups on a baking sheet or oven safe dish.

2. Put the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave it on high for 30 seconds, take it out and stir it, then microwave it for another 30 seconds and stir it again. It should be completely melted. If there are still chunks of unmelted chocolate, microwave for another 20 seconds and stir.

3. In a medium mixing bowl, cream the room temperature butter and the sugar with an electric mixer or a rubber spatula. The mixture should be thoroughly combined, smooth, and paste-like, not lumpy.

4. Add the two eggs to the creamed butter and sugar, and beat it with the electric mixer or a whisk until everything is combined and the mixture is starting to foam, about a minute. Add the flour, and again beat everything with the mixer until it’s thoroughly mixed.

5. Add about 1/3 of the melted chocolate to the mixture in the mixing bowl, then use a rubber spatula to gently fold it in. Add the rest of the chocolate mixture, and fold together until you have a uniform batter with no streaks.

6. Divide the batter evenly between the two greased custard cups, then bake the cakes in the preheated oven until the tops are just set but the cakes still jiggle slightly when you shake them, about 11 minutes.

7. Let the finished cakes sit in cups for five minutes when they’re finished baking. Then, flip each cup over on a dessert plate, and tap the bottoms of the cups so that the cakes fall out.

8. Serve immediately. If you want, you can garnish them with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and berries.

8 Easy Ways Snow Makes You A Happier Person

If you feel dull in winter season, you should be continue reading to learn how to be happier person in winter!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/15/snow-and-happiness_n_6471462.html?utm_hp_ref=less-stress-more-living

There’s no doubt that the worst of winter has arrived, bringing sub-zero temperatures and icy winds along with it. The dark, frigid days make it tough to stay positive as we slog through our daily commutes and count down each hour of the workweek until we can return to snuggling up on the couch at home with loved ones and Netflix.

However, once a beautiful bout of snow is added to this wintry mix, we often find our feelings of bitterness transform into ones of pure, unadulterated joy. It seems to wipe the slate of our world clean, rejuvenating our personal perspectives at the same time. Whether you choose to play in the snowfall or appreciate it through a frosty window, there’s no denying that the beautiful snowflakes make you pause and take notice of their arrival.

See snow in your upcoming weather forecast? Here are eight reasons why you should prep for a boost of happiness along with the icy precipitation.

It inspires our sense of wonder.

looking at snow

“Snow brings change, newness and a fresh take on the world,” wrote psychologist and HuffPost blogger Sandi Mann. “Travel is disrupted, meetings are cancelled and schools close early. This change to the daily grind refreshes our jaded minds as we see the world, literally, in a different way. It makes us take a step back from the routine and take time for once, to smell the coffee (and build a snowman).”

It gives off calm, relaxing vibes.

snowfall at night

“Snow falling soundlessly in the middle of the night will always fill my heart with sweet clarity,” wrote author Novala Takemoto. Even in our most stressful moments, a fresh snowfall maintains an almost supernatural power to calm us down — mind, body and soul.

It links us to childhood memories.

happy kid in snow

“Snow is the most natural substance (other, perhaps than sand) that is associated with childhood, and so many of us find hard to resist reverting back to happier, more carefree days,” wrote Mann in her HuffPost blog. “A phenomenon called emotional memory means that associated with our memories are emotions — so that when we remember events, we also remember the emotions associated with them. Many of us have happy childhood memories of playing in the snow, so when we see those fat, fluffy flakes twirling from the sky, these memories kick in and we feel happy.”

It gives us fun games and treats.

laughing in snow

Let’s not overlook the obvious: these days are the few where snowmen, snow angels, snow forts, snowball fights, and snow cream are a given. You don’t have to sit back and live vicariously through all the neighborhood kids out on the streets having a blast — pick up a fistful of snow and join them!

It brings us into present moment.

footsteps in snow

“Silently, like thoughts that come and go, the snowflakes fall, each one a gem.” –William Hamilton Gibson

There’s nothing like being the first to leave footprints in a fresh layer of snow to connect you with your surroundings. Taking a deep breath of the cool air, noticing how the scent of it has changed and allowing your vision to be consumed by the clean scene of white makes any other thought or worry effortlessly fall away, leaving you with just your body and the snow.

It brings people together.

fireplace cuddling winter

Few can deny the snuggle power of snow! After a long day of sledding and snowball fights, there’s nothing better than cozying up on the couch with a special someone — and yes, that can mean your beloved pet, too. The toasty fireplace and mug of hot cocoa are optional. In the end, the company you keep is what makes it so magical.

It reminds us of the beauty in nature.

pine trees in snow

While rain tends to leave our surroundings in a fog of soggy gray, it’s frozen counterpart illuminates them, creating idyllic winter wonderlands in their place. The vast white space and dusted evergreen trees have the amazing ability to leave us feeling enchanted to the point where we simply can’t take our eyes off the landscape before us. We notice every little detail, from the first bird to leave its nest to the first breeze to knock limbs free of their icy cocoons.

Its time is limited.

melting snow pretty

Perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of snow’s existence is that it’s fleeting. Temperatures rise, the ground starts to thaw, and the former world we once knew beneath that blanket of white is revealed once again, creating yet another new beginning for us to appreciate among the natural elements.

Richest 1% Could Soon Own More Than The Rest Of The World Combined

http://www.buzzfeed.com/richardhjames/the-richest-1-could-soon-own-more-than-the-rest-of-the-worldThe richest 1% will own more than the rest of the worlds population combined next year unless something is done about rising inequality, the charity Oxfam has warned. The projection is based on Credit Suisses Global Wealth Datebook for 2013 and 2014. According to Oxfam, the richest 1% had an average wealth of $2.7 million per adult in 2014.

According to Oxfam, the richest 1% had an average wealth of $2.7 million per adult in 2014.

PA / Nick Ansell

Meanwhile, the charity said, 80% of the world’s population held just 5.5% of the global wealth, with an average of $3,851 per adult.

The publication of Oxfam’s research coincides with the start of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.

Winnie Byanyima, executive director of Oxfam International, said:

Do we really want to live in a world where the 1% own more than the rest of us combined? The scale of global inequality is quite simply staggering and despite the issues shooting up the global agenda, the gap between the richest and the rest is widening fast.

In the past 12 months we have seen world leaders from President Obama to Christine Lagarde talk more about tackling extreme inequality but we are still waiting for many of them to walk the walk. It is time our leaders took on the powerful vested interests that stand in the way of a fairer and more prosperous world.

Business as usual for the elite isn’t a cost free option – failure to tackle inequality will set the fight against poverty back decades. The poor are hurt twice by rising inequality – they get a smaller share of the economic pie and because extreme inequality hurts growth, there is less pie to be shared around.

Oxfam is calling on governments to adopt a seven-point plan to tackle global inequality. The list incudes clamping down on tax dodging, investment in universal free public services, and introducing minimum wages.

The opera rendition from Fleming, a four-time Grammy winner, was uncommon for Super Bowl lead-ups because the role is traditionally reserved for a pop star (see video gallery, below). In 2013, Alicia Keys played piano while singing the national anthem (watch, below), which hadn’t been done since Billy Joel in 2007. Kelly Clarkson sang the song in 2012, a year after Christina Aguilera flubbed the song’s lyrics at the previous Super Bowl.

Menzel, the voice of the inescapable Frozen song “Let It Go,” will sing the National Anthem, while Golden Globe winner Legend will take on “America the Beautiful.”

Those performances will lead into the game and Katy Perry’s big halftime show. Lenny Kravitz is the first announced guest to join Perry’s medley.

Last year, soprano Renée Fleming delivered a riveting national anthem with help from a military chorus. The opera rendition from Fleming, a four-time Grammy winner, was uncommon for Super Bowl lead-ups because the role is traditionally reserved for a pop star (see video gallery, below).

Lea Michele Joins Fox’s Comedy-Horror Anthology “Scream Queens”

“Glee” alum Lea Michele has joined Ryan Murphy’s “Scream Queens.”

Fox made the announcement during its presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour, and Michele also confirmed the news on Twitter.

The actress is officially joining Scream Queens, a comedy-horror anthology set to debut this fall.

Also added to the cast: True Blood alum Joe Manganiello, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer.

No details were given regarding the quartet’s roles on Scream Queens, whose first season will be set in a sorority house, as several murders begin to rock a college campus.

Last month, Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis were the first actors to join the series.

After its panel, Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman brushed off concerns that Scream Queen‘s broadcast home would prevent Murphy from replicating the same shock-based success that shot FX’s American Horror Story to the top of must-watch lists.

“Creatively, I’m not sure it’s that big of a difference,” he said. “Obviously, there are different standards for what you can do on FX and what you can do on Fox, but Ryan proved on Glee that he can tell very edgy stories that have real cultural relevance on network television, and I expect him to do that with Scream Queens. I think it’s going to be an amazing, suspenseful, fun ride.”

Sharing Your FirstPprofile Photo Is Facebook’s Embarrassing | New Trend

An example, 2014 had the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

What will be the trendy in 2015?

http://mashable.com/2015/01/15/first-profile-photo-trend/IMAGE: MASHABLE COMPOSITE

2015 has: Posting your first Facebook photo(s).

The latest viral trend makes every day #TBT. It requires folks to post their first Facebook profile photos, and then nominate others to do the same. Unlike the Ice Bucket Challenge, however, the trend isn’t making the rounds in the name of charity.

Instead, the trend is seemingly just a way to publicly embarrass both yourself and the friends of your choosing. It’s a lose-lose situation for everyone, and it looks something like this:

http://mashable.com/2015/01/15/first-profile-photo-trend/

 IMAGE: MASHABLE

On Feb. 4 of this year, Facebook will turn 11 years old, meaning early adopters who get in on the trend will have to contend with potentially shameful photos dating back as far as 2004, a notably bad year for style.

Facebook has not yet responded to Mashable’s request for more information on the birth of this trend.

Though the trend is simply a fun procrastination tool for most, some have managed to put it to charitable use. Mental Health Ireland, a health advocacy organization, successfully turned the trend into an appeal for donations after encouraging followers to give after sharing old photos, and to nominate others to do the same.
