Google Play VS. Apple’s App Store | Who has more apps?

Which company has more apps ? Google or Apple ?

http://mashable.com/2015/01/15/google-play-more-apps-than-ios/Image: Mashable, Christina Ascani Android developers had a busy year in 2014. The number of apps in the Google Play Store grew by more than 50% last year, outpacing Apple’s App Store for the first time, according to a new report. The report noted that all three app stores it looked at Android, iOS and Amazon’s App store saw a large amount of growth, but Google saw significantly more than the other two.

“What’s interesting is that although Apple continues to grow strongly, it’s really Google Play that’s growing,” the company wrote. “In 2014, the number of apps distributed through Google Play has doubled.”

Analytics company App Annie, which tracks app store data from Google Play and Apple’s App Store confirmed with Mashable that Google Play does indeed have more apps than the iOS App Store.

As of this writing, Google Play had nearly 300,000 more apps than the iOS App Store — a difference of about 17% — according to the company.

appFigures doesn’t speculate about the reason behind these changes in growth but there are likely a few factors at work. Android still has an overall larger marketshare than iOS globally, so it makes sense that more developers would be attracted to the platform. Google also makes it much easier for developers to create new apps and doesn’t put Android developers through the same lengthy approval process as Apple.

However, it’s worth pointing out that, as a whole, iOS developers still make far more money than their Android-based counterparts. Even though Android downloads were 60% higher on Android, iOS developers still made 60% more money, AppAnnie found in its Market Index report for the third quarter of 2014.

Creme-egg-eating season is upon us, but some connoisseurs aren’t too happy with this year’s crop of fondant-filled chocolate treats.

Kraft, which owns Cadbury, is facing criticism from egg eaters for not using Dairy Milk chocolate this year.

“It’s no longer Dairy Milk. It’s similar, but not exactly Dairy Milk. We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we’ve used it this year,” Kraft told The Sun newspaper.

“The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used.”

Customers took to the Cadbury UK Facebook page to complain about the changes with one describing the egg as “cheap tasting chocolate” and others commenting that they wouldn’t be buying them again.

The changes to the Creme Egg chocolate, which is only available for a few months every year, are hot on the heels of criticism about the multi-pack quantities changing.

Earlier this month, chocolate lovers tweeted their disappointment that a dozen Creme Eggs, seemed to be one shy.

Being Gay And Black On TV Will Never Be The Same Again

“Empire” is a very sentimental towards our human beings.

Director Lee Daniels “holds up the mirror to us as human beings,” said Jussie Smollett, who plays a young black gay character on the new Fox series Empire.

One of the most gripping scenes in the first episode of Fox’s new series Empire is a flashback in which a younger version of Jamal Lyon — played by Jussie Smollett as an adult — walks in front of his parents and their friends, stumbling in his mother’s high heels and wearing one of her head scarves. He catches the disappointing, angry glare of his father, Lucious (Terrence Howard), who immediately jumps up, drags Jamal into a bedroom, and closes the door. His mother, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), yells after Lucious not to hurt their child. In another flashback scene, Lucious attempts to dump Jamal — who looks to be around 4 years old — into a trashcan.

In the show’s present timeline, Jamal lives with his Latino boyfriend. His friends and family are aware of who he is, but he isn’t publicly out, seeing as his famous father — an incredibly successful rapper turned music mogul — isn’t supportive of him.

Empire was co-created by Lee Daniels, who has delivered riveting — and at times, horrific — tales of black American life. He was nominated for an Oscar for directing Precious, the 2009 film that depicts the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of an obese New York teenage woman.

But the message of Empire — which premiered on Wednesday to 9.8 million viewers, making it Fox’s biggest new show in years — is particularly personal for the out gay filmmaker. When he signed on for the series, Daniels told BuzzFeed News, he was tired of seeing the same hyperfeminine portrayals of gay black men on screen. He wanted to give mainstream TV audiences something very different. “I think that the stereotype that we have seen … is like that of black women. That Aunt Jemima stereotype,” he said. “We went right for the gut with this one, turned the knife.”

Empire — a modern, black version of Shakespeare’s King Lear — centers on the Lyon family: patriarch Lucious; his ex-wife Cookie, who’s newly freed from prison; their power-hungry, Ivy League-educated oldest son Andre (Trai Byers); their youngest, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), a rapper on the rise; and middle child Jamal, a singer-songwriter prodigy.

Empire, Smollett said, is “not shoving anything down your throat. It’s not preaching, it’s not telling you the way that you should feel about a certain issue, but it is giving you options. Lee holds up the mirror to us as human beings.” Read more…

http://www.dumblittleman.com/2014/12/6-signs-know-wants-marry.html

Understanding women is difficult, at least in terms of relationships or when any man needs to know if the girl is in love or not. But at the same time, it is also quite troublesome to know if the man too loves or rather wants to marry any girl.

Undoubtedly at least for men, it is very easy to claim that he loves you. But when it is about commitments like marriage, only true and real men come forward.

In case you too have that someone special in your life and you are keen to know if he is interested in having a life term relationship with you, by marriage, here are some signs that will help you getting this idea.

Introducing his family- Taking you back his home, while he is alone isn’t a big issue. But if your man takes you back at his home and introduces his family members to you, then you must understand that he is keen in making you a part of his family. If he invites you or calls you up for every or rather most of the major family occasions or gatherings, irrespective if it’s big or small, he is all ready to have an official relationship with you. At the same time, if his family members welcome you whole-heartedly, it means that he has already spoken about you. This shows that your relationship is on the right direction.

Part of decisions- He needs to have a better job for a better career and he is planning to move with you. He is asking which apartment could be better for investing for a long term basis. Or if he is planning a family, kids or deciding any other important stuff and he includes you all along these plans, then it’s a clear sign that your guy planning to have a long term future with you. And that itself clearly shows that he is planning a marriage.

Open-minded- If you see he doesn’t hide anything from you or is sharing almost every significant thing, then it’s sure that he considers you as a very important part in his life. Only those guys are reliable, not just in marriage, but also in serious relationships, who share almost everything. If he hides anything, then it’s seriously not a good sign. The more he shares, the more he shows that he is proud to have you.

Sticks with you- This does not mean that he always sticks with every now and then. It in fact means that he is with you in your difficult times. As you notice that he is with you even in your most difficult moments, then it is sure that your guy does not want you only for fun. He is actually serious in sharing all those possible difficult situations that may come up in your future.

No room for jealousy- Most of the men often feel jealous when their girl talks or jokes around with some other guy. But if you see your man is absolutely comfortable while you are talking with some other guy, other than him, then it’s for sure that he completely trusts you.

Small signs of proposing- In case you see he often passes small comments saying about marriage, of course with you, and asks how would you like to be proposed, it’s definitely a true sign that he is all for you. Showering love and calling you as his “only one” show how much you mean to him.

In case you have seen some of these signs in your guy or even all, then make a mental picture that a beautiful marriage proposal can come up any time. After all, fun is for small boys, when it’s about true commitments, only real men will be there.
